I totally agree with this. The whole story centers around Yahwi and Jooin developing a relationship from a toxic dissatisfying fwb situation to a proper love story, by dealing with their individual issues that prevent them from committing to each other. Which sounds like an interesting story with good character development. Meanwhile there'd almost be no story to tell with Cain, since there's nothing to fix. It would just go: Boy drops fwb guy for a new boy who treats him better, the end.
