So apparently in the novel, it's said very quickly in the first few chapters? that they aren't actually related, but we don't know why since the person who read it haven't read all of it yet. There are several theories as to why, but all of them contain more spoilers so I won't mention it. But, yeah at least it's confirmed that they aren't siblings due to some secret reason.
