Idk if some of y'all are just not very familiar with how people trapped in abusive relationships act, this is it. They know something is wrong, and they try to step away, but their abuser has basically stamped a terrifying feeling of fear into them, and to survive, a lot of them pretend that fear is love.
The fear isn't always of violence either. I think in this case the uke is afraid his abuser will hurt himself if he leaves him (in other words he's WAY too kind hearted) because he repeatedly portrays the guy as a "kid" meaning he doesn't believe this dude is fully responsible for his actions.
Despite all this, his fight or flight instincts are still kicking in, ya know, because he's a human being. It's caused him to seek solace in our WONDERFUL and AMAZING seme (godbless our dear doctor), but he simultaneously feels guilty, because be feels as though he is abandoning a "child". It's a sticky situation to be in, and it doesn't make it any better when little abuser boy gets all sick and vulnerable looking.
Anyways this was LONG but I hope anyone who bothered to read it gets my drift. It's important to understand where characters are coming from before we judge them as good as bad. I've even gone as far as to study and emphasize with that little bastard (I've decided that regardless of what trauma he's hiding, he still sucks ass and should go get some therapy and repent).
