But wasn't there a document on him and his grandpa on how they live in the woods? Wouldn't they say the area he's in or some clue pointing the vamp boi's in his direction

I guess they haven’t thought that far ahead or are probably not aware of it. Plus, if that was true all they would know is that they used to live in the woods, not where in the woods or which woods specifically. So, it might be a clue but it’d take a long time searching for him if they don’t have the proper location.
