Even though Kaoru has some conservative ideas like becoming young enough to be desirable for marriage in another world, wants to find a husband to spread her genes etc...
She has been destroying the patriachal society/system mercilessly so far. There are lots of events where she doesn't give a damn about the societal norms or rules in her new world. Well she does follow the law and order of this world as long it makes sense to her. But she also uses this rules against those who are out of line/rude towards her. She changes and interrupts the status quo around her very cunningly.
How would you describes Kaoru's personality? Would you consider a feminist or progressive character despite some of her current conservative values?
I really like Kaoru for being a smart badass but the character is also hypocritical. She wished for the ability to create any potions because she dislikes murdering people and freely potion making can't harm people. But as already demonstrated she can blow up or poison several people with her potions/mist/cloud. In the end she is no real pacifist. I think the author made a mistake with its writing and consistencies. There are unfortunately flaws in the storytelling...
I wish the author would have wrote in Kaoru's monologue in the first chapter: I can't use it/my abilities so easily for killing human beings. I like to avoid that. I hope I don't have to use it to kill" It would have make it more sense if that argument was established in the first place.
