Yeah, I agree. Even though Haesoo came there to make a clean break, he (and the reader) is robbed of that by what feels like a more forceful dominant character. It serves the purpose of assuaging Taku supporters and showing a reason to despise him less, because he’s finally admitted defeat. When are we going to see the full and open culmination of Haesoo’s true feelings. Like, we know, but I want to hear and see him.

This is perfectly well explained...it is unsatisfying because Haesoo didn't say anything but "sorry" when it was the opportunity for him to finally say what we've been seeing and reading between the lines since the start: It's always been Jowoon, Taku never had a chance. What we had tho, is a breakup made for Taku to shine, to play heroic when he is the one forcing the relationship since the beginning...so yeah...kinda ironic.

i think i preferred how taku was the one to initiate the break up. the recent series of chapters have clearly brought favor to jxh so making haesoo break up with taku would only put him on a pity chair which i've always thought was unbefitting of taku. in a way, him choosing to break up is both out of character and in character of him. out of character because taku's developed so much into an affectionate person that everyone expected he'd cry during the break up. in character because his original personality was no strings attached so it seemed natural that he initiated it. regardless, hopefully his moving on stage won't be so rough because it was his first time experiencing genuine attachment and losing that must hit hard

The chapter was a whole lot of nothing. It was like ok...and? Maybe we'll actually see him finally express himself when he answers the question. As the MC, there was nothing going on for him in this chapter, no impact, nothing meaningful came out from his mouth, no nothing...

Exactly...it's probably because this chapter was made for Taku, it was focused on him, on his feelings, it was his own ending. I have a feeling that the next chapter is going to be more satisfying.

him breaking up with Haesoo like that proves it wasn't a genuine attachment. he did not love Haesoo, he wanted to "win" over Joowon. when he realized that wasn't happening he gave up before Haesoo made the final call so that he can still play it off like he didn't lose cuz he was the one who ended it. This was Taku being a selfish manipulator till the very end and I think some people think it was out of character for him cuz they assumed he really did have feelings for Haesoo, and yeah, if he did have real feelings for Haesoo this would have been a weird way to end their relationship. But since his feelings have always been selfish and superficial its completely in line with his character.
