Yeah, I sure wish they have strong enough reason to hide the truth. Although my problem is more with "how" they chose to hide that truth, because it's painfully obvious that they hid something.
By the way he acted, Lucius was basically saying: "So you woke up after 9 years? No big deal, we're not friends anymore anyway. Oh, btw, Lucy died. Now scram, I don't want to see you anymore".
Even a kid will ask "Why?"
I'm sure the author purposely wanted us to get frustrated along with the MC tho, so on that count, it is successful.(〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
I don't understand why don't the two guys just sit with the MC and explain things properly. They're supposed to be adults ffs.
Why did they keep avoiding giving MC information and just told him to 'let go' when the MC doesn't even know what to let go. They don't even tell him how/why Lucy died, so how can he let go if he can't even grief properly?
If they're smart and maybe want to 'protect' the MC, they should've just feed him enough information to have him settle down and move on. But no, the MC has to squeeze any bits of information out of them and even use his body to gain access. And after all that, the bits of information he got only raises even more questions and made him confused. That poor guy.
I believe at this point it is his love/care for Lucy that keeps the MC going. After it's done, I hope he go far far away from those fools. (/TДT)/
