um they toned down jeanette's character in the manhwa, in the novel she was a complete asshole.
she just wants everything to herself, because she thinks claude is her father and she have jewel eyes. (her real eye color is red btw)
What happened in the novel if you don't mind explaining ? And it's not that she wants everything to herself, she just wants to be with her "family". She doesn't know that they really aren't, so how can you blame her?

ok so, at first she just wanted a family (its understandable) but when the story didn't go the way it should be, she lost it, she blamed everything to athy. every hardship she been through she would blame athy.

i think it all started when ezekiel said he liked athy, that's when jeanette's losing it.

hmmm i don't know about her behavior later on in the story as I have not yet read the novel, but I made this comment off of her current behavior and just thought to myself that she was getting too much unnecessary hate. I guess we will see how my opinion changes later on
Why does everyone hate Jeanette so much... I honestly feel for her. Being that lonely and naive for affection is kinda expected for a kid her age, especially in her situation. I feel like ya'll need to calm down a bit. I know shes a character, but she's just a kid...I just want Athy and Jeanette to both find happiness
