for me it looks like his really brave skillful man and his also top 1 of his batch so i think when he decided to be "small town police officer" his instinct somewhat switch off but when those crazy thing happened to him it just came back and change him like he was before..well thats my theory anyway XD
WTF!!!! It`s like since the incident with many people ganging up on him, he`s a completely different person Σ(っ°Д °;)っ
Before he was sort of a chicken and now he is a professional who doesn`t need help from his supernatural colleagues anymore.
