idk about you, but i was young when i discovered this site. young enough to where i was still mentally developing. when i first started reading bl, i fell into the smutty and cliche ones that didn't include realistic depictions of gay couples. and that warped my perception of them later on. i caught myself expecting gay couples to act or look a certain way, and fetishized them because i was projecting what i had read onto them.
i'm guessing that the majority of people on this site are young kids or young teens, and i'm worried that what happened to me will happen to them. whichever way you look at it, that kind of fetishizing mindset is not a healthy or acceptable one at all.

i also can understand your pov. my concern is that, while kids may be able to distinguish fiction from reality, they can still form a subconscious relationship between what they are reading and what they see in real life.
i'm guessing that when you're that young (not you specifically, just general you), you don't have much exposure to those who are a part of the lgbtq+ community. and because you don't have anything to go off of other than the stories you read, you form connections in your brain whether you realize it or not.
it's like growing up not caring what you look like, but then being exposed to all of these ads that tell you otherwise and all of a sudden having it be a concern of yours (not the best analogy, i know, but the one that pops into mind).
kids are affected by their surroundings and what they consume, just like adults are. as much as you may think you're not being affected (again, general you), you are to some extent.

As adults on the internet we are not responsible for what minors consume ,their parents are
And also as adults we need to keep in mind that fiction and reality are 2 different things and for that simple fact we need itch that idea and not be so easily affected by fiction because you know we are adults after all and at least we have the mind to know what is right and wrong
