Ok so I have been doing the google and so far I found that to do that they use:
-plenty of lube
-You got to stretch it out with bigger objects overtime to make it easier
-You go in one finger at a time and take your time
So in order to put that rod in safely, they would need to take their time. Trying to shove it in would definitively cause tearing and bleeding. Getting to the fire extinguisher phase must have taken ages and it would have most likely still hurt.
