anyone just a tad annoyed with the huge amounts of homophobia?

yeeeeeep. in the novel characters seem to think it isn't natural for guys to be together and it pisses me off way more than it should.

mhmm the one example that sticks out the most to me is when yaoyao finds out jiu is a chick and thinks about how it's only natural for her to like boys if she's a girl. tch, it made me dislike her character permanently.

Personally I don't like it, however that is sadly how things are in real life. So I think in a sense it is supposed to make you upset in such a way. Yaoyao is a sweet character even in the novel hopefully you won't dislike her to much
