at first thats what i thought too, but if you think about it the seme portrays his love and affection in a different way. the uke mentioned how they thought theyd be like sex friends, fucking everyday but instead the seme just took care of him instead... making him feel like he wasnt so alone.
i agree his career field isnt exactly the best choice when it comes to trying to pursue someone who already has issues concerning love and trust as it is but he somehow manages to portray his affection through everyday actions...
