Switch out the FL and you could have a better story.

Imagine the setting is exactly the same except for one thing. The FL. It’s long but I hope you’ll give it a read. Here’s what I would have done:

This FL’s goal is to get home and to escape because she has a family who loves and needs her. The first day she realizes she’s forgetting, she writes down everything she can remember from her home world so she never forgets who she is. She gains a reverse harem who fall for her outward innocence (a fake persona she’s taken to make sure no one knows her intent). She uses them and their political power to gain more of her own so that she can study this world and find ways to get home. One of her husbands is the third prince who later usurps the throne.

As time progresses she forgets her world but still reads her memory book daily. She falls for the guys she’s married to but there’s internal conflict of how real these affections are since she knows her mind is being changed against her will. She loves this world but hates it too. The girls that had arrived with her, none share her feelings for they have forgotten themselves. She starts to lose herself and her goals dim with the hope she’ll return.

Three years later, more girls are summoned. She sees their fear and tears. Her desire to destroy this system returns. Quickly she connects with these girls and has them write down their memories. She takes the ones that show promise and a desire to return home, under her wing. They still get their own sponsors but she makes sure to meet up with them and watches over time to make sure their desires to return home remain. Those that don’t lose themselves, she starts a group with. One that practices forbidden magic. She’s tried all sorts of magic to get home and this is her last ditch effort.

Then her and her small group find it. The way to change the world. They need to kill the god of this world and there’s a chance that women would be born into this world and there will be no more need for summoning.

Her husbands find out. After much arguing, they decide to follow her because they do truly love each other now. So with the help of her husbands and her team, they find a way to contact the god.

After much drama, betrayal (one of her husbands destroys her memory book because he fears she’ll leave— she dumps him and never forgives him. He’s killed by the other husbands in secret before he can tell anyone what they’re planning), fighting, and a pregnancy announcement, they reach the god who is nothing but a coward. He offers her the way home if she spares him. The FL, whose sole goal to return home, has to make the choice of returning home or being stuck here forever.

She kills the god because she refuses to let anyone else be ripped from their families and suffer the same fate.

The world changes.

The women remember their homes and who they were.

The first child born is a girl. The child of the FL.

From then on, more and more girls are born and balance is restored in the world. Men are no longer born from stars either. Her husband, the third prince, usurps the throne with her other husbands and bans all future summoning despite much backlash from those who haven’t gotten wives yet.

15 years later, the FL is now a mother of 5 beautiful girls (one from each husband, two from the prince). She finds the way to go home. It’s something that happens once every hundred years. She would be able to return to the exact time she was taken and her age would be reversed. She would even slowly forget that world as if it were a dream. All the women in the kingdom are notified and have the week to decide what they should do. At the end of the week no one but those women are allowed anywhere near the portal and all men are ordered to stay home. Though few do.

Some women run to it as fast as they can.
Some tearfully say goodbye to their families as they step through.
Some stare into the portal for hours before stepping away, returning to their husbands.
Others don’t even look to the portal because the lives they left behind weren’t worth anything.

When the FL leaves on the last day, her husbands and children don’t expect her to return. They’re stunned when she does, soaking from the rain with the biggest smile on her face.

Instead of choosing to leave, she wrote a letter with a painting of herself and her new family. A letter to her parents, her siblings, and her friends detailing everything that’s happened and not to worry. She apologizes for not coming back but this is the life she’s chosen and no one, no man or god, can take that decision from her.

She is safe. She is happy.

Then it ends.

The reason why this plot is so bad is because this FL has NO GOAL. Which makes her sway one way or another with nothing anchoring her which makes her boring and stupid.

I love the idea that the FL would write all her memories down that's smart. Why didn't I think of this (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

If this was a novel/webtoon I'd definitely read it
