She is just a beginner in this first arc so yeah I get that it kind of frustrating. But she is weak because she is just a beginner and just started the mission. Don't worry, starting from the second arc, she develops really fast and becoming stronger.

But I'd 10/10 recommend the novel. It's perfect for when you're tired of those long long long as* romances and want some no sheet faceslaping short stories. It has 4k+ chaps, but you can just go by arc between other reads... at least that's what I do...
