Funny thing is i started reading some bl since I was sick and tired of all the harem bullshit and the romance was actually nice however same thing with how everyone is brainwashed to make harems they make the mc bottom in bl which is just as annoying so yeah its not that good to read either. Female mc novels are not bad but alot have them having their abilities sealed or some other bullshit and the even worse ones have sadistic authors that like to make them suffer, so trying to find a strong female mc is hard. Well thsts enough ranting I guess

What I see in female MCs is that they usually still get "controlled" by males. Like they'll be all clueless and just follow along with whatever the males around them say. And, as you said, it's either that or the female MC gets their powers sealed and needs saving from males anyway.
Honestly, anyone who has trouble understanding that this is fiction enough to be offended by it, should spend less time reading, and more time in the real world.

This isn't about being offended. This is about every time I think I've found a story with an OP female MC, she turns into a meek sheep within like 10 chapters. I don't mind those stories, but I'm getting tired of almost ALL of them being like that. Why do Japanese have such trouble writing a female OP MC that does similar stuff to the male ones. Why do the female ones have to all be about falling in love, following what male love interests say, and dressing up all pretty for parties?
Actually, there are some strong female leads. In chinese wuxia manhua to be precise. But I wish the Japanese ones would do that too every now and then.
I laugh, because this is why I stopped reading western romances of all genres. It was the same damn story with different names, places, etc.
