I swear to god in every goddamn novel like this they make it seem like black skin is a disease and once they get the gift of “light” suddenly they turn ivory and they’re cleansed. They turned this girl WHITE and suddenly she’s attractive and a regular lady. Y’all can kiss my ass
I started reading this book because finally finally there was a brown skinned female lead character and boom this is how the journey ends. There are hundreds and i means hundreds of light skinned female leads in novels but the one time she’s brown the powers of light purified her or some shit. Fuck this
