As far as I know, the reason why he was sick because of a Lack of affection and love from his parents but after he met Jayna he got held by all the love she gives to him.
I’m not so sure about this but: I heard that 1. He fell in love with her, at first sight, we will wait and see.
2. Angela was so rude and horrible to him because she didn't know he was the first prince and she was so focused on the second one because you know she wants to seduce him.

of course you Shouldn’t consider about him after all he is just going to be your true love, you will just marrying him that not something should be concerned about right.
