tbh though, none of the two of them had a choice. Dylan wanted to keep her sister safe while Cedric wanted to do his grandfather's wish. In the first place Cedric hadn't even intended to marry Dylan. It was the sister who caused the marriage to happen by announcing that Cedric "proposed" to Dylan. And then Dylan had the chance to call of the entire thing by refusing Cedric when he proposed AND when she went to the grandfather.
Sure she said no at first but Cedric was joking when he had asked at that time. He was teasing her. You can't blame Cedric that the sister was following them. And then you say that he should have known by her face that she didn't want the proposal but you need to take into consideration BOTH of their social standings. Neither of the two could afford to deny the other due to the backlash.
sorry for the rant but i like the story and especially the characters so i kind of wanted to defend it when you said you hated stories like this and you were sort of blaming Cedric
