Gyuhee is not his mom, she was a girl he met because they are of the same social and wealth status (they’re both from rich families). His mom died. When she was set free from the prison Dosung’s dad kept her in, she killed the guard that was guarding Dosung’s dad’s office and jumped off the window there instead of killing the dad (which was practically the same for Shuts). Okay idk if i just misinterpreted what happened bc i was binge reading, but the whole bit where the actual truth of what actually happened to the mom is kinda vague to me. Like we're first told that she committed suicide in front of her husband, but later it looks like she's having a conversation with dosung about his true nature and all that jazz. So i was like "wait so she pulled a sherlock and faked her own death and left the chat till dosung grew up????"
Now that i think about it, maybe it was all a spiritual revelation that dosung was going through lmao
