It was pretty much shown. He was born different, with no emotions of his own so he learned to copy the behavior of others to appear normal. The only time someone's emotion appeared to affect him was the night of the fated dinner party, where he met Tatsuki
i think it'd be better if it had a full chapter or two of miyako's background (or childhood) so we could understand better. it's just pure manipulative from the beginning until the end
