It was actually a civil conflict so asking another countries/kingdoms king for help is equivalent to asking that king to take over the country/kingdom entirely. Unless they were fighting another country and were asking neighboring countries/kingdoms for assistance then sure they might help but like nah. Also if they were to actually ask cause they have relations between each other it would've been a no from the people of the princesses country. Why? Cause who tf would want to fight for someone else's motherlands internal conflict. Like. Why should my country sacrifice our people for other peoples problems. Unless we get benefits then fuck that. Plus they were just dating, not married. And if a country can't even support itself in this internal crisis then that's a fucking big ass embarrassment. She’s obviously the heir so he’s a soon to be co ruler of her kingdom. The country’s would end up being conjoined anyway, so he had a perfect ally. Even if my girl couldn’t officially send reinforcements she could secretly send aid and he chose to get support from a domestic duke. If mc was the villainess, this would be a major insult and it would result in a war. When he promised to marry her that’s a pledge of allegiance and he broke that shit. Besides the dudes country is barely out of a civil war. If girls dad wanted to take the kingdom by force he could do so fairly easily. He betrayed her, insulted her honor, and made her a laughingstock.
