Alcohol does make you a different person/knock you out because it affects your ability to think. Sometimes you have drunken ideas and those are absolutely terrible and in your right state of mind you would never do that because you know it's a completely stupid idea.

Alcohol does not turn you into a different person or knocks you out. It also doesn’t force you to do shit, you don’t want.
It takes away your ability to think clearly and it makes you lose your shame, so if you decide to do something in a drunken state, it’s because you want to do it but fail to think about the consequences. If you really don’t want to do something from the bottom of your heart, you won’t. And you will fight anyone who will try to make you do it.
