i think it because usually the audience is girls (who some really dont think about that, and can relate straight/straight to idols/people they know) or when its with gay people its more of the straight man fantasy (which i find weird too)

If you think about it, it happens, it’s just uncommon. My best friend who was completely straight met my childhood friend who was also completely straight. They eventually went out with each-other and now they have been together for 4 years now :)
Yh, it can happen but like it'd be nice if it didn't show up as much as it does in Yaoi. Yaoi originated from fetish to a degree and based on an extremely conservative world so it's still hard to get rid of the same lines which get recycles again and again. There are some definite gens out there though.
