So basically after she was taken in as prisoner they obvi both end up dying due to the prince and thus the magic seal broke because the catalyst died and turns out the duke was the catalyst all along not Noel. When we find out that and the seal is broken, it goes into the Dukes memories of what he has forgotten and what Noel basically forgot as well which was about her mother, meeting the duke and everything else. Thus when we as reader find out everything, the Duke realizes it wasn’t memories and he has been taken back in time. Not reincarnation, it was basically time travel. The only thing that was different that the Duke didn’t change himself was that fact that he was injured via an arrow not I think a sword and blah blah blah to today he’s been trying to find Noel again and here we are
