Isn't that because he kept rejecting her from the beginning? She probably believes he's just being kind to her with no other motives and that his cold personality is just him putting up a wall. I don't blame her for not assuming he has feelings for her when Erudian was the one who keeps rejecting her. It goes both ways as well with Erudian believing she doesn't love him that way which is half true. Yerenica only wanted to save him from certain death in the future which is why she proposed to him. It wasn't out of love either even if as the readers, we could clearly see them both falling in love. However, at the end of the day, we are outside looking in so it would make sense how we can view both sides's prespectives of each other.

I just love how protective he is of her. And is she being extremely oblivious to how he is towards her or am I tripping cause when she gets "confused " on his behavior, I get a little annoyed with her.
