I disagree with you that Makoto and his wife should stay together....because of the type of person she is she's the type that only wants something when she feels like it's important if they really get back together i can assure you that after a period of time she'd go back to her behavior from before In a way she's like you-chan because what she wants is to be comfortable in life and as we can see she's the type that values herself over her husband if she were to get the chance of a promotion that would have her move to another country or city she'd gladly take because of her own interest and knowing Makoto he'd ended feeling hurt because she only thought about herself

Well, she didn't cheat on her husband so I feel like she deserves a second chance at least. And even though we know why he did it, Makoto still had an affair so he's not a saint either, so I think he should at least give her a chance to make it up to him and change for the better. To me it's a better option than immediate divorce
Sigh I can see you've probably never been in a bad relationship.......sure he can give her a second chance but as we can see he's tired of being hurt he's no longer in love with her in the end if he trys and fix it even though his heart is not truly into it he may end up being being cruel hurting himself and her by not being happy and making her feel that she has a chance of being like they were before in a relationship the two sides have to be willing to try and as I've said makoto is tired of being hurt you may not understand but if you think about it their relationship will turn into a one way relationship and trust me on this type relationship will only lead to being hurt and the chances of Makoto turning emotionally apathetic will be high so over all the relationship will only ended in suffering so it's best to get a divorce
Cuz even though I hate how much of a slob You-chan is I can still understand why Michi wants their marriage to work out, she still loves him and they've been together for years already so the thought of divorce is probably pretty hard for her to dwell on. And on Makoto's side we can see that his wife is trying so hard to change for him and prioritize her husband, so I also kinda want Makoto and his wife to work out.
At this point, I think it would be okay if both couples could work out and Michi and Makoto get over each other. BUT ONLY IF YOU-CHAN COMES CLEAN ABOUT HIS DAMN AFFAIR CUZ THAT SHIT STILL PISSES ME OFF AND I HATE THE FACT THAT HE IS STILL TRYNA BE ALL SNEAKY ABOUT IT(ノ｀Д´)ノ彡┻━┻
