I commented briefly on the duality of man, and how "goodness" isn't objective, but some people, my word.
You either have people refusing to read his story, people being conflicted on how to objectively view his morality by weighing his trauma versus his sins, and people refusing to take into account anything that happened in this time line and treating him like the same emperor from the first life.
It's okay that he's a victim of abuse and an awful society and also did the same towards others. That is what happens to people. He has been hurt, yet also hurt others. People's actions do not determine their objective morality.

I totally agree with you but I think the people's distrust comes from what they already saw in novel and its about the course in the timeline which I won't reveal (only if you want ofc) that just adds another reason to hate him despite his shortcomings and trauma

When the queen went back in time she retained her memories but the red bitch, the Emperor and her sister did as well.
So separating the two versions of the Emperor because of different timelines is wrong since they are the same person (in the sense that he wasn't born again or doesn't remember his wrongdoings)

i personally think separating the two versions is practical for the fact that lucio in this timeline is indeed a different person. how? because rose is a different person, and because patrizia is in the scene. even in the previous timeline lucio was always wrapped around her stupid nail polished finger so we are actually free to say that rose was basically manipulating the empire at that time considering how extremely brainwashed lucio, the ruler, was. she could get him to do crap just by saying i love you and that's the difference with the current lucio. rose is incredibly conscious of her actions because she remembers her mistakes before. because of that, she fails to completely control lucio which lead him to have an inkling that she doesn't truly love him (which is true). that small thought became rose's downfall because it broke the blind love lucio was always under. plus, patrizia's presence only adds up to it. the meat incident and the hunting incident didn't happen in the previous timeline. those were the keypoints to lucio's character development because he's finally broken lose from rose's lies which, in itself, could've been rose's most powerful weapon had she paid more attention to it.

I understand where your coming from but I'm saying lucio then and lucio present are same are becuase he lived through both and by this I mean he remembers both timelines also rose as well so it creates an equal playing field for the characters. If I remember correctly rose was confused that Patricia became queen since Patricia sister was suppose it be so this hints that her memories remained.
