Yeah, I always get frustrated with stories where the mc forgives them without at least acknowledging the damage that was caused. It's like, "well you have a tragic backstory, and without that maybe you would've been a decent person, so I'll forget any of this happened." Maybe it's because Daisy came from literally the exact same situation that it's easier to see it's not about the circumstances you come from. It's how you choose to react to them. Daisy isn't letting Rose go on her merry way without punishment, but she's being fair and giving her sister a chance to redeem herself. Only Rose can decide if she'll take it.

I genuinely love how Daisy realises that Rose fucked her up bc of trauma but still holds her accountable for her actions. It's not an instant empathy or forgiveness that's granted simple bc Rose deigned to explain her reasoning- I just love it when people are forced to take responsibility for things that they brushed off but ultimately caused so much trauma
