I agree with you for the most part. However, even if she gave him a chance to step out, his reputation and his business were already riding on that marriage. We gotta take into account that not only is she famous all around and have a flawless reputation, but she also manipulated the opinions of everyone around him except for his most intimate friends, and his behavior and reputation only aided her purposes. Had he canceled that marriage, he would lose old and new business opportunities, his relationship with his family would sour (at least with the king; and his mother and brother -the knight- would at least nag him until his ear fell off) and his reputation would fall even lower (tho I don't know if that's possible). I wouldn't say she destroyed her life, as he put, but she at least made it damn hard for him.
I also didn't like the way he reacted to this all (nor his attitude in general), I understood why, but still hated it; and neither did I like what she did. She single handedly decided that he was going to be the anchor keeping him and the kingdom and had no scruples in making sure it happened.
All in all, this whole story is train wreck, it's so frustrating and tragic（/TДT)/
fl is kind and strong. ml is shit and arrogant. but he's trying to be better. and she's helping him to be better. i hope they can be happy. i enjoyed this one quite a bit bc they actually communicate and the ml is taking the initiative to change although it took a lot of chapters for him to do so. hopefully he can overcome his addiction and fix his attitude even though it's extremely hard and they can have a healthy baby after all of these things sorted out.
also anyone who said she coerced him into the marriage, you're wrong. she did asked him if he truly wants to marry him and give him the option to refuse her but he didn't. but he blamed her and said she trapped her even though she didn't, she gave him a way out before. he was an impulsive character so he really didn't have the right to blame her when it's his decision to proceed with the marriage at the first place.
