I think its because Kruger’s titan can see the memories of the person who will inherit it next. Grisha who inherited the titan power of kruger Saw Eren (grisha’s son) in his memories and Eren was the one who told Grisha to eat/kill the founding titan (Frieda) basically I stand w the theory abt Eren creating himself. He persuaded Ymir to free the pigs, After that she became the founding titan then so on.. so yeah basically Eren created himself to save people from being slaves and such but idk its all a theory but it make sense
Oh and abt kruger saying “u have to inherit my powers to save armin and mikasa” basically yeah its the same, Kruger saw Eren in his memories telling him to give the power to Grisha so that Grisha will give the power to Eren... now What Eren is doing is actually to save the world or make the world a much better place
So it's possible that someone else will kill eren and inherit his powers? I wonder if he's also seeing future memories from the person that will inherit it

I think at the end they will all be free from the “passing/inheriting titans” like the curse will be remove (for ex. Reiner has 1/2 idk years left, that “curse” will be removed and he can finally go on live w his life cus Ymir is finally free) OR if the curse is still not gonna be remove then maybe Historia’s baby is gonna have a big role in this story
Theres two things playing in my mind. Why did at the start of the story eren woke up crying and he said he felt like he had a never ending nightmare ?
And why did eren kruger said to grisha he had to be the titan if he wanted to save armin and mikasa. When grisha asked him back who is mikasa and armin, eren seemed confused coz he didnt know whos the owner of the memory.
I wonder if its connected to the earlier chapter when eren woke up from his long dream
