No, he only wants to steal everything Charlotte has because he himself has no identity of his own (and does not want to get something by his own effort) and envies what she has. (That's why every time he's at a disadvantage he runs away to have more power, later in chapter 56 he lets himself be helped just because he was surrounded by powerful people and couldn't escape). But he's waiting for an excuse to go crazy and destroy everything, and then blame it.

This is what the demon refers to in chapter 1 (checked in chapter 72, I keep up with the raws). And Evan is being influenced by the devil, but he already felt that envy towards his teacher, the desire to be better than her in everything he is doing now is of his own free will nothing is forcing him.
