I'm kind of hoping Hari and Eugene's relationship's keeps a steady enough pace to want us to go for Eugene instead more but rn even though those of us who know who the ML will be and are still sticking around are mostly having a rough time feeling bad for the 2nd place boy (aka Johan) lool
To be honest I feel bad for Johan. I have no problem with her ending with Eugene because they at least handled it better than in a lot of other step-incest relationships, with them both going through puberty and maturing (ergo becoming their own persons with their own feelings and thoughts) while apart. But Johan does make me feel bad. He is clearly completely in love with Hari, and since she knows that she's supposed to marry him in the future (at least that's how it happened in her past timeline) she's let herself fall comfortably into the position of his future wife and because of this has given him every hope, since in her mind it's a done deal. She's made an effort to cultivate their relationship and is always careful and partial towards him, subtly encouraging him at every turn. When he finally proposes later in the series and she says no and goes for Eugene instead the poor Johan is going to be blindsided.
