Finder No Rakuin - Translation

Mina September 12, 2015 11:03 am

Due to being a die-hard Feilong fan and loving the FeixYoh deal, I'll try asking this again.

Does anybody know if there is an English or Spanish translation of Finder no Rakuin (aka Feilong's novel)? There was this girl, Yamiga (who used to post a lot) that was doing it, but she's gone.

Hit me up, if you've got news! Thank you so very much!

Yes, there is a complete and excellent English translation by an LJ group. But if I remember correctly they don't want it shared anywhere outside the group (for obvious reasons). It's 170 pages, PDF. I

IOW "Why yes, there is, but you're not allowed to have it. Just thought I'd let you know to torture you a little more. Bwa ha ha ha!"

    Thanks for sharing.

As far as I'm aware, it's only been published in Japanese, Korean, Chinese and German. I have the German version at home and I'd actually love to translate it, I'm just not sure if I have the time for it, or even where to put it up...It's a pretty decent read imo. :3

Err, NO. That is NOT what I said. I said that IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY - WHICH I DID NOT! - the group didn't want it to be shared outside the group. Meaning: I AM NOT SURE! Which part of that did you NOT understand?!? When I wrote my reply I was rushed for time, so I didn't have time to look it up, okay? Because guess what, some of us actually have a fucking live, a job and a family and can't hang around LJ or Mangago all day!

I got it off that group on the 2nd auf August, it's a PDF and it has 170 pages. That's all I had time to check. I had a quick loook at the first page with the credits, but it doesn't say which group it is and I don't remember which of the groups I am a member of it actually was. So now what? Do you want me to spend the next four hours going through all the posts of all the LJ groups I am a member of to find out for you which one it was? Only to be insulted again by some stup a-hole like you because I didn't do things to your satisfaction?

That will teach me answering a single post on this page and trying to help ever again. There is always some rude brat like you who feels they can just put words in your mouth. Unbelievable. And I WAS going to find out, once I had the time, who it was and ask if it was okay to share. But after that bitchy reply you can just lump it. I am complete done waisting my time here on people who are this rude and ungrateful. I'm out of here!!!

I didn't know they finished it!!! I mean if we are talking about the YA LJ group... I thought they dropped it cuz there weren't many people interested in it. Yes, I know you can't share it outside the group. Thanks for answering my question!

I know about the German translation, that's why I thought that, since German is (I think) more accessible than Japanese or Chinese, there had to be someone who had already translated it to English (which is actually what Yamiga was doing). I was only able to find a long summary and it seemed a pretty good story. Don't worry about translating it!!! I'm sure it's quite a challange! Thank you for answering my question!

Yeah, I was pretty surprised when I never saw an English version of it anywhere...

It would be quite a project, that's true...but I bet it'd be a lot of fun too. ^__^

Ofcourse there would be no English translation. Only 1% of the population of the world speaks english! Duh.

It's really funny how it's translated in those languages but not engliah. lmao!

I tried to send the group a request to join but I received a rejected email without even an explanation of why....I think the power of control got to their heads unfortunately.

Those groups are just a bit paranoid because if someone they absolutely don't know fucks around with their files or shows them to Sublime or whatever they would be in a bit of trouble (there was a scare once overall in the VF community when one of the groups nearly got sued by June). So they look at requests very carefully, that's all there is to it.

Though there was another translation free for anyone to see (translated from German though). Not sure where though, never bothered to read it up, but it is out there!

Well, who really cares how many people speak a certain language. It doesn't necessarily equal more sales. Many mangas get much more sales in France than they get from their English localisation... It's all about the established market (mangas are actually quiiite embedded in the young French culture, and you get tons of stores selling exclusively mangas because there's that demand).

Though of course, the publishers in France are now only since about a year ago beginning to experiment with Light Novels starting with Sword Art Online, so there was no way Finder was going to get a Light Novel localisation.

And I think the German localisation was an experimentation that seemingly failed, seeing as it was announced the newest novel won't get a German translation.

Chinese though, of course they're getting a localisation. Their books market are quite similar, so it's easier to market it etc.

So for the English localisation you had DMP (the previous publisher which lost the series only last year), which isn't quite a financially stable company, and seeing it as a huge risk didn't make it. Sublime, which is a relatively new company, also shares a similar reticence to the risk.
