Well so far I almost get killing stalking vibes for one thing. They have semi-normal lovey type moments and then BAM Vasya says some fucked up shit and Yoon is terrified. So far I think it's pretty good, IRL it's actually hard for people to get past someone's looks and think, "THIS MAN IS DISGUSTANG" so I understand it. Vasya "loves" him so of course he is going to attempt "romance" doesn't mean it's actually romanticizing it. No my guy you got it all wrong. I don't think it's a cliche BL. Some people like completely uncensored stories y'know? You like horror you said? Why do you read it eh? You know it's fucked up and terrible but you obviously still enjoy it. I really honestly don't see how this is framing it wrong at all or trying to appear as fluff.

I kinda agree with you with the "feels shallow and meaningless" part. Cuz this doesn't really do anything for me as romantic nor twisted relationship. Like, I'm fine with toxic relationship portrayals when done well but this one is just... shallow with characters acting downright dumb/inconsistent sometimes. One saving grace it has is that the uke is aware of his situation and hasn't fallen in love with the seme (it's just physical for him at this point). So maybe the seme will FINALLY start showing some goddamn character development in order to get the uke's true affection. If it's just one of those "seme shows NO effort for the relationship (except having sex) and uke eventually falls in love just because" then... ugh. Shallow and meaningless indeed.

Yeah, like I know it was established from the start that "he'll devour u if u share his sexual preferences" but that doesn't change how stupid/unhealthy it is. Because before he was like "imma respect ur boundaries IF ur straight but imma throw them right outta window when ur gay". Like, what kind of idiotic double standard is this?
I hate stories like this. The concept, art, and characters are all great. But the plot? We’re supposed to watch this man have sex and get forced into an abusive relationship with someone who’s unstable, dangerous, cruel, and criminal —who’s ONLY good aspect is his damn looks— and what? We’re supposed to be happy? Feel good?
The ONLY thing I want to see is how Yoon gets away from Kaminsky. How he manipulates Kaminsky and finds a way to escape. And maybe gets into a relationship with Chris or someone who’s at least MINIMALLY decent and respectful.
But this kind of cliche BL never delivers. It’s obvious we’re going to see Kaminsky be glorified and romanticized even more as he continuously borderline rapes Yoon, and Yoon just “falls in love” because Kaminsky fucks him a few times and buys him shit.
It’s just depressing to read this. I like BL, I like horror, and I don’t have a problem with fictional abusive relationships— but this feels so shallow and meaningless. There’s nothing romantic about this. Reading this just makes me feel awful and I’m rather disappointed.
