Hmmm it's not really a problem, parents raise their kids differently so just because you call them that doesn't mean they're bad parents, as long as they care for you and treats you as their child then that's cool

I just think it's bad in this situation because it's obvious that their relationship is already strained and damian calling him 'sir' creates a much more distant relationship which he, the parent, should try to fix

Calling your parents mom/dad or a nickname carries a lot more affection in it so yea i get it while sir is formal and i would usually only use in public pretty weird to be at home relaxing and be like sir can u pass the butter or sir can u tuck me in. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

Thing is they only just met their father so its more of a stranger/scared kind of thing to call them sir, they just dont have the trust or respect built there for them to be calling the sir out of respect or admiration so its shown that they have a strained relationship i have a feeling later on they might still call him sir but they will eventually call them dad when they are relaxed and not doing formal things like training.
