The author never want to draw uke as buff or scary guy. He just look scary in other people perspectives because he has big scar and not talk much. The uke is the type of person that week toward beauty so when face toward the king he easy to shy.
Also I think the author drawing style is still improving that why sometime there is little inconsistency in the art.
1) lmao his scar keeps appearing and disappearing and
