They're immortal the PHYSICAL FIGURE of them is technically "dead" but since they cannot die (since they live within each other, hence the biting and reincarnation scene) they live in a spiritual form/soul form. From the context, they can only communicate through someone's head, and probably even their body because the brain is the you know mastermind of the outer body so they controlled him to write that just so he knows they are not technically dead and what he saw in a dreamlike state was not a hallucination
I discovered this because of Tiktok lol and I binged it in one seating. I think there are a few implied subtexts in here that are a bit too close to becoming plot holes but I'm gonna let that slide. This is definitely a good manga. I think the dynamics between the characters could have been explored more, but what we got is still okay imo. Definitely recommend this. And about the ending, I'm confused. So are they dead or...??? How were they able to help ie if they were physically dead?? I'm really confused.
