i THINK HE DOESN'T TELL ROOD BC HE FEELS RESPONSIBLE ALSO HE PROBABLY DOESN'T WANT ROOD TO REMEMBER WHAT REALLY HAPPENED AND REMEMBER HIS PART IN IT. IF KIEL SAW THE LETTER IN THE BEGINNING RATHER THAN OBSESSING ABOUT WORK HE COULD HAVE PREVENTED THE WHOLE THING AND HE WAS TOO LATE TO RESCUE SO HE PROBABLY FEELS GUILTY.
WELL THIS IS MY ASSUMPTION

So the dick boss lied. I bet there was no monster attack and even if so, Rood wasn't killed.
This is why Kiel betrayed the Tower.
I wonder why he never told Rood they were brothers. Maybe because with his memories gone, the Rood he knew was effectively dead, and there was the worry about Tower.
God, I wonder what Kiel is going to do when he finds out that Rood is at the Tower.
