The engagement between the prince and that other girl was just a rumor. The prince never agreed to an engagement with the girl, the girl basically tried to spread the rumor that she was getting engaged (which she succeeded because people expected her to get engaged with the prince) and the prince just played along with it, never actually accepting the proposal. so basically the prince isn't engaged to anyone. Sorry if it's confusing as hell
