Even the king wouldn't normally accept that kind of remarriage. Even more so is the woman is a commoner... did he live as a commoner when they eloped? Did he abandon his duties? Cuz is clearly stated that the younger sister eas raised as a commoner. So... who was acting as the duke then? Did they all just accept a man who eloped with a mistress back as the duke?
