Believe it or not abused victims are the best at hiding just how much they are being abused. They lie, they cover the evidence, make excuses, and so on. They also isolate themselves because they believe no one will help them or believe them even if they show proof. Or they dear those they tell could become abusers or part of the abuse as well. This is what goes on in their minds. She isolated herself, and pushed them away, and made them dislike her, all while hoping they would notice. When they didn't she probably thought she was better off dead and only succeed the last time. At the same time her family is shit, they abused her just as much. They mentally and emotionally degraded her, never paid attention to her, and in the end added to her overwhelming wish to die, so they are not blameless by any means and I hope they pay for it as well. I hope she drags them along until they can't live with out her then tosses them off a cliff. That's what I hope.

Thank you. Slot of people over look the invisible abuses such as mental and emotional, and only look for physical. Physical abuse is easier to hide, most of the time, and will heal, the others aren't and cause lasting damage. Still it's always the victim that suffers the most because they always feel alone even if they don't show it. Which is why I can't stand her family. They added to her abuse, and turned a blind eye to her, then acted surprised when it came to light. They acted like they were the victims, and still the only reason they are being nice is because they have a use for her.

I'm only on chapter 10 but jesus what could she possibly have done for her family to hate her that much? Exist? Not perform at a high enough standard for a noble? Is there some terrible secret reason? if not I'm not sure how her family is possibly redeemable considering they allowed a child to be tortured.
