interesting how many of you don't think that maybe he has insecurities too but the author wrote him in a way where he deals with problems by diving into his work (and trying harder). if fl wants 'confirmation', she should be able to give it too.
I think that will be where his flaw comes in - perhaps not communicating out and rather doing things his own pace and way without letting her know
if that's his flaw, then that's also her flaw but 100x more. why are you putting this stuff only on the guy?

DoJoon who move at his own pace, and Heewon who never try to be direct. These two will slowly learn how each other style and try work for it. Chp 40 is actually still half of the story, we have to wait to see their development

I guess...DoJoon is new to this topic of love. This is the first time he fell for someone and his instict telling him to grab her no matter what. So he just mixing his personality and planning to marry her, not knowing if its a good way or not. He probably didn't realize that he's dealing with a hard woman and that he just need to say a simple "I like you" for Heewon to understand how he felt. Because Heewon is someone who has many worry about love, she just need confirmation from DoJoon.
