Can you tell us what you meant by "savage"
That woman manages to put a male prostitute(??) near ML and ML may have s.x with him with MC as witness (spoilers not quite clear on this). Later she manages to shove MC into a brothel but the male from earlier helps MC - and instead the woman is gang-raped.
....I mean, a whole lot of tugs on the heart strings is coming with behaviour that would be a one way ticket to a psychiatrist irl for most people as the love story..
Ahhh, sorry. Just not me. Drawings are beautiful, story fairly well told and paced, but this is another level of abuse and nastiness in the name of love that I can't stand behind as entertainment. Keep an eye of the spoiler thread I listed above - I got my info from there :)

MC is abused in the daytime by that woman, at night by the ML.
And while it seems like the ML misunderstands the meek MC at every possible twist and turn of the story, it appears that he actually does know the truth for many of the things happening but says nothing, 'cause .. plotting (this also applies to what is going to happen further ahead in the story).
ML, the Emperor and that woman (ML's twisted wife/Emperor sister) are seriously busy scheming and plotting with MC in the middle. MC keeps loving ML, but ends up in misunderstandings and rejections by the ML (because .. scheming). And while MC at some point may have a chance at retaliation at ML, he still accepts ML due to love.
Only slight positive point is that woman gets taken out, but the author's idea of revenge is just savage (not in a positive light).
