Not all countries legalized same sex couples to adopt a child and the discrimination they would face tho...
they can always move to another country but yeah its difficult. i think you should take their word for granted when the couple says they're gonna stay together, if the mangaka doesnt write more story then she/he intends for it to end that way without any more drama.
