Yep they do have trauma and that actually explains/establishes the wariness they have but the author is not consistent with this trait.
For example:the twins were not wary of the nanny bec she told them facts straight up no bullshit. I can slightly understand the other kid scenario by using their shared experience.
But the others? Nah, that was just bad, there wasn't anything written to at least help the twins in not being wary of the bad guys (Duke squad) and such.they didn't even have enough interactions to warrant or establish the guillabity they have towards them.
That's just my take though. Does this have a novel? Maybe we can see more in the novel(๑•ㅂ•)و✧
