Absolutely agree. I don't like this trope where older woman is a hardass and is maybe naive when it comes to romance or doesn't understand if some one is interested in her and gets mad when ml could lose interest in them. It's not realistic and it's annoying as hell to read.
What authors think when they make the MCs thoroughly dumb about romance, even when they are in their 30s. Is it a trope that makes FLs more attractive? By them being in constant confusion about someone's interest, and then denial once it seems like a relationship would be great between them? I mean, no female, who is even faintly realistic, would behave like this. She's annoying the hell out of me, he's been nothing but a respectful sweetheart to her.
