Well, it's not like there's such a big difference between the Free! doujinshis or the anime of Free! The anime gives off really strong BL vibes and it's a really nice and sweet show. Actually, all of the animes you mentioned are really good, so I'd give them a try if I were you. That way you'll also understand the characters better ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
Ah i also started with doujinshis then actually read it… it actually didnt bother me that much though since it has so many chapters i dont read as much… I think im not bothered cuz i already have read a bunch of these doujinshis

I've never read a word of Gintama, but I always make sure to read all of their doujins.
