This person only said that the dude was a liar, a user and that he shouldn't be trusted. They never said "you should trust and stay with Kaminsky , not with this dude". Just because people said that you shouldn't trust someone, it doesn't mean that they're telling that you should trust them instead. To me, he shouldn't trust anyone but himself and, obviously, he shouldn't betray someone that can easily kill him.
