uhm first of all, trauma is hard to deal with in any age.
second I think the author uses the "they are 23" card only to explain why these children are smarter and can think better than other 5 year olds. which i dont really like cause there is so much potential for them, surely they should be able to use at least 1 idea from the modern world but NOPE, apparently it just does not matter that they lived from another life and yeah im also upset and disappointed about it
